Certified Clinical Perfusionist Opportunity – Minot, North Dakota
Sign on bonus, relocation and possible student loan repayment - Salary is open and negotiable depending on prior experience.
 
Full time opportunity available with a large level II trauma center.  Facility covers a medical service area of over 250,000 people. 
  • 11 Critical Access Hospitals in northern North Dakota and eastern Montana – All of these hospitals feed into the main hospital in Minot, North Dakota. 
  • Newly built 60,000 square foot clinic in Williston, North Dakota (on the Montana border).
  • 2014 Award for one of the Top 50 Heart Hospitals in the country.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate heart-lung equipment during surgery under the direction of physician.
  • Operate intra-aortic balloon pumps, extracorporeal circulation equipment, and other heart and lung supportive devices to temporarily take over cardiopulmonary functions to facilitate open heart surgery.
  • Operate heart-lung machines for routine heart surgeries like coronary artery bypass grafting and valve correction or replacement.
  • Administer doctor-prescribed blood product types and medication during open heart surgery.
  • Monitor vital signs, in-surgery circulatory processes and control the temperature and blood flow of patient.
  • Mobilize the cardiopulmonary bypass circuits in any open heart surgery.
  • Stay prepared to receive off-duty call to assist in emergency cardiovascular surgeries.
 
Skills and Specifications:
  • Must have high presence of mind, attention to details and the ability to work long hours and under extreme pressure during complex surgeries.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Must have high dexterity in the use of required perfusionist equipment.
 
Education and Qualifications:
  • A BS degree is required, preferably in Nursing, Respiratory Therapy or Medical Technology.  NCLEC Certification is required and state board certification is preferred.
  • Must pass the Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
  • 2-3 years of nursing care experience is an advantage.
  • New graduates are highly encouraged to apply.

There is one high school on two campuses: Minot High School - Central Campus (for grades 9 and 10) and Minot High School - Magic City Campus (for grades 11 and 12).  Minot Public Schools also offers an Adult Learning Center and Souris River Campus, an alternative school. For private schools, Minot has the K-12 Bishop Ryan Catholic School. There is also a Protestant K-12 school, Our Redeemer's Christian School. Minot is also home to Minot State University.
